I sit in front of a computer for eight hours a day and I come home every single night with a painful and tender neck. Even practicing good posture I find myself straining my neck muscles from looking down at paperwork and then back up at the computer monitor.

At first I tried a warm wet compress on my neck, but the towel would drip down my back and would be cold in just a few minutes. I then tried a heating pad, but I couldn't get it to stay on my shoulders and around my neck. It was unwieldy and uncomfortable. Then I came across the Therabeads Moist Heat Neck Wrap.

The Therabeads Moist Heat Neck Wrap is a microwavable, reusable moist heat wrap is specially contoured for the neck and shoulder area. It comes with a hook and loop closure that helps prevent slippage and is fully adjustable to fit my neck.

The first thing I do when I get home every night is to throw this thing into the microwave. In just a few seconds the neck wrap is warm and it holds heat for an extended period of time. This allows my muscles a chance to relax and relieve the pain. I couldn't function the rest of the evening if I didn't have the handy little Therabeads Moist Heat Neck Wrap.

Last month one of the worst super storms ever on record slammed into the East Coast costing numerous people their lives and racking up over 50 billion dollars in damage. DME Supply Group jumped into action and began donating 1 dollar from every single sale to the relief effort.

DME Supply Group would like to thank each and every person who made a purchase during our fundraiser. Through your generous giving we were able to provide Samaritan’s Purse with a donation  that goes directly to the relief efforts underway across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the entire East Coast.

A new systematic review released this week suggests that motivational messages and helpful healthy reminders via text and video messages can help smokers kick the habit.

Through a review of five different studies researchers found that while a lot of medical care providers already send out appointment reminders via text message the added boost of motivational messages and interactive options made a difference to those in a cessation program.

Some of the messages included polls, quizzes, and other interactive reminders about the dangers of smoking and the benefits of quitting. Those who received these messages were twice as likely to quit smoking and be tobacco free six months down the road.

This is definitely something that healthcare providers should consider. It's a cheap and easy way to provide motivational support for those going through a very tough life change. The five studies each showed varying degrees of success, but with some tweaking through larger studies this could be the self-help tool of the future.
