There's nothing more horrifying than finding out that your child has an allergy, especially a life-threatening one to something as common as peanuts. Unfortunately, that's the position that I found myself in late last year when my son had a severe reaction.
Now we have to be careful every time we go out to eat. I think the scariest part is when he's at daycare and being fed without me there. One way I found to help remind everyone that he's got this severe allergy is with the neat ID bracelets that are on the DME website. There are a ton to choose from and they're all incredibly affordable. I chose the AllerMaters Wrist Band - P. Nutty Peanut Allergy. It had a fun look, one that he wouldn't be embarrassed to wear. He's at the age that it's important to be "cool" and this band solves his worries while settling mine as well. I never let him leave home without it on his wrist and he never wants to. It's really a win-win. The good news is, when he's tired of the look of the wristband you have a ton of other options, including key chains and necklaces. Peace of mind is an important thing and I've found it with the AllerMaters Wrist Band - P. Nutty Peanut Allergy. Labels: allergy care, identification, medication aids by: DME Supply Group 0 Comments

As a recently diagnosed diabetic, I was instructed to check my blood glucose levels at least twice a day, every day. To say that this was a daunting task is an understatement. I searched online for a long time looking for a meter that would be easy to use and provide peace of mind on a couple of levels.
The Accu-Chek Aviva System Blood Glucose Meter is everything that I was looking for. It's compact and easy to tuck away in a drawer. The sides are made of an easy-grip rubber that keeps it from slipping out of my hands, which removes one of my biggest fears; messing up the drawing of blood. Speaking of drawing blood, this little meter only requires a tiny drop (0.6 microliter) to accurately and quickly give me a reading. And when I say quick, I mean it: 5 seconds. That's it! Lastly, if you're like me, it's easy to forget to take a reading. The Accu-Chek Aviva System Blood Glucose Meter has a built-in test reminder! And to top it off, it will record my readings and average out my scores for me. It really couldn't be any easier. I highly recommend this product.
